ALevellers is a supplementary exam-practice platform for Sri Lankan G.C.E. A/L students. Its direction is informed by our student-needs research, which highlighted explanations, rankings, progress tracking, peer competition, and timed practice as important needs.

Here are the six main things to know:

Curriculum-aligned MCQ practice

Questions are created from the official A/L syllabus and resource books rather than generated randomly. Students can complete timed challenges alone or compete with friends.

Explanations and useful review

Every question includes an explanation. Students can revisit previous questions, their selected answers, the time taken, and the explanation so mistakes become learning opportunities.

Fairer rankings and subject progress

Island and district leaderboards use Z-Score-based comparisons, while Wilson Score protection reduces the advantage of very small question samples. Per-subject ELO ratings help students follow improvement separately for each subject.

Accessible as a Progressive Web App

ALevellers can be used directly in a browser without ever being installed. Installing it on mobile or desktop is recommended for a more convenient app experience, supported challenge notifications, automatic updates, and offline review of previously loaded questions.

Is ALevellers paid?

During the initial months of the beta, ALevellers is completely free to use without feature or challenge restrictions. A limited free tier will be available after this initial period. No credit card is required during this initial beta period.

Current limitations

ALevellers is still growing. The number of MCQs, supported chapters, subjects, and streams is limited, and the team is actively expanding and reviewing this content behind the scenes.

You can start a free challenge and check the app itself for the latest available subjects, chapters, question totals, and pricing.
